The Student Success and Advising Center is all about student achievement, quality academic advising, and meaningful involvement. We realize that transitioning from high school to college or transferring between colleges can be difficult, so we are here to help. College life brings with it new experiences as well as new demands for students, so having someone in your corner can make all the difference. Primarily an advising center for freshmen and sophomore students, we also serve as a resource for all College of Education students by offering services and programming such as student success workshops, student engagement opportunities, and leadership development opportunities.
Advising is an ongoing process between advisor and advisee which allows students to reflect on their interests, abilities, and values in order to develop a plan of study – both in and out of the classroom – which maximizes their potential. Advisors are trained professionals who can supply you with invaluable information about majors, courses, careers, requirements, policies, social life, academic support and transition issues. In other words, your advisor is a one stop shop for your college-related questions and concerns.
