Lee, Ph.D., is a well-known expert in the design and use of technology to support student learning of mathematics and statistics, and one of three finalists for Baylor University\u2019s 2022 Robert Foster Cherry Award for Great Teaching. She has had a lifelong love for mathematics and statistics, and is driven by her desire to widen her impact on students\u2019 and teachers\u2019 educational experiences. She earned her earned her bachelor\u2019s from The Pennsylvania State University, master\u2019s from the College of William and Mary and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. She joined NC State\u2019s faculty in 2000, and today is a professor of mathematics and statistics education and a senior faculty fellow at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, which is part of NC State\u2019s College of Education. The award program is designed to honor great teachers, stimulate discussion about the value of teaching and encourage departments and institutions to value their own great teachers. The three finalists for the 2022 Cherry Award, including Hollylynne Lee, Ph.D., will present a series of lectures at Baylor and one on their home campuses in Fall 2021.
