“As a secondary teacher in a small school, I struggled to find a community that supported my professional development. Towards the end of my teaching career, I found online communities that provided rich learning opportunities that met my contextual needs. I returned to Stanford to pursue my Ph.D. to study how teachers learn through informal self-directed online learning,” said Robin Anderson, an assistant professor of mathematics education.<\/p>\n\t \t \n

“I chose the NC State College of Education to work at the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research,” said Professor of the Practice Kenneth Ender, who previously served as president of Cumberland County College. The Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research (in planning) develops and supports community college leaders in addressing issues facing the state’s community colleges.
