Register to attend EdTalks: A Celebration of K-12 Education Oct. 21. Local leaders and celebrities -- including NC State Women's Basketball Coach Wes Moore and 2018 N.C. Teacher of the Year Freebird McKinney -- deliver short TED-style talks about how their K-12 education has impacted their lives. Also help us celebrate NC State College of Education alumni who have received national, state and district-wide awards in 2018-19 for their work in K-12 schools. WRAL-TV Anchor Debra Morgan will be our emcee, and students who attend A.B. Combs Magnet Elementary School will provide the entertainment.

Associate Professor Angela Wiseman has received funding for international collaborations on projects with the University of Wollongong in Australia, where she will use digital tools to document children’s understanding of place, and Stellenbosch University in South Africa, where she will examine how language diversity relates to educational contexts.
