Assistant Professor Erin Krupa Selected as Recipient of NC State’s Inaugural Goodnight Early Career Innovators Award

Assistant Professor Erin Krupa, Ph.D., has been selected as a recipient of NC State’s inaugural Goodnight Early Career Innovators Award. Recipients of the award show outstanding promise for future achievement or impact in STEM, demonstrate superior scholarly achievement at an early career stage and have a rigorous research agenda that speaks to their potential to advance knowledge in STEM or STEM education.

NC State College of Education Assistant Professors Adria Shipp Dunbar, Ph.D., and Erin Krupa, Ph.D., have been selected to serve two-year terms as 2021-2023 Friday Institute faculty fellows, beginning in August 2021, at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation.

NC State College of Education Awarded $3.9 Million in Research Funding January-March, 2021

Faculty and researchers at the NC State College of Education, including the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation and the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research, were awarded $3,927,703 to support 13 projects from Jan. 1 to March 31, 2021.

$1.4M Grant Will Help Assistant Professors Erin Krupa, Robin Anderson Inspire High School Students to Develop Better Understanding of Mathematics Through Design and Pitch Competitions

For the past three years, Assistant Professor Erin Krupa, Ph.D., has been helping to inspire middle school students to explore STEM concepts through design and pitch competitions. Now, through a $1.4 million grant, she and Assistant Professor Robin Anderson, Ph.D., will expand the concept to high school students while implementing online supports for teachers.

Jere Confrey, Erin Krupa Use NSF-funded Project to Engage Students in STEM Through Summer Virtual Entrepreneurial Competitions

Middle school students will have the opportunity this summer to flex their entrepreneurial muscles while inventing innovative STEM solutions to real-world problems through an ongoing project led by Joseph D. Moore Distinguished Professor of Mathematics Education Jere Confrey, Ph.D., and Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education Erin Krupa, Ph.D. 

During the showcase, a team of students under the direction of Person Early College for Innovation and Leadership’s engineering teacher, David Price, created a UV water treatment system.
