Ed Gerler on Retiring After 42 Years at NC State Education: ‘I Wanted to Leave While I Was Still Doing a Good Job’

Ed Gerler, Ph.D., spent 42 years serving the NC State College of Education in various roles before retiring May 16. “I love teaching and I love doing research,” he said. “And my last years at NC State have been so gratifying because I’ve been able to do what I wanted to do. I am really grateful that I stayed at NC State.”
