Study From Belk Center Research Associates Finds North Carolinas’ Comprehensive Articulation Agreement Helped Modestly Reduce Excess Credit Accumulation for Community College Transfer Students

A recent report co-authored by research associates at the NC State College of Education’s Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research examined North Carolina’s revised Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA), designed to help ease transfer pathways between community colleges and University of North Carolina System institutions, and found that it has had modest effects on reducing excess credit accumulation among transfer students.

Achieving the Dream President and CEO Karen A. Stout Named Chair of Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research Advisory Board

Karen A. Stout, Ed.D., president and CEO of Achieving the Dream, has been appointed as the chair of the Advisory Board for the NC State College of Education’s Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research. She takes over the role from NC State Professor of the Practice Robert Templin, Ph.D., who has served as chair for the past several years.

CARES Act Funding Helps Graduate Students in the College of Education’s Higher Education Program Enhance Training to Become Virtual Student Success Coaches

From Dec. 7-11, 2020, master’s students in the NC State College of Education’s Higher Education Program will receive enhanced training to become virtual student success coaches who can support undergraduate students through remote learning situations.
