Courageous Conversations in Community: The Importance of Self Care when Doing Anti-Racist Work (1-2 p.m.)

November 16, 2021 | 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

American Education Week 2019The College of Education’s Task Force for Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’s final courageous conversation for the semester will focus on taking care of ourselves while engaging in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Doing anti-racist work is taxing and evokes emotional responses that can be stressful. To sustain ourselves, we must engage in self-care and healthy coping strategies in the process to increase our longevity and long-term health, and success. Licensed practitioners, counselors, and graduate students in training will join us for this important conversation. The goal is for us to engage in conversation to explore strategies, create a self-care plan for ourselves, and support each other as a college community. This event is held in collaboration with COMID’s Tuesdays Together. Register to receive the Zoom link.
