Search for the Dean of the College of Education Now Underway

An open search for the dean of the College of Education is now underway.

Recently, it was announced that Dean Mary Ann Danowitz will return to the college’s faculty in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy and Human Development, effective October 5. Paola Sztajn, a professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences who recently served as interim associate vice provost for academic personnel and policy, will serve as interim dean.

The nomination committee for the dean of the College of Education is chaired by Dean Chris McGahan of the College of Sciences. The other committee members each represent a group of college constituents including faculty from each department, department heads, administration, EHRA non-faculty staff, SHRA staff, students and the College of Education Board. Committee members are:

The nomination committee will hold its first meeting Friday, September 24, and will continue to work during the fall and spring semesters. Executive Search Services in NC State’s Human Resources division will be assisting the nomination committee. Kelly Wick will be managing the search for the Provost’s Office.
