Everyone is required to wear a face-covering in METRC for circulation – checking out or returning books/equipment

Students, faculty, staff and university affiliates are required to wear face coverings in all NC State buildings and in all university programs held in non-university buildings. Eating and drinking will not be allowed in METRC. See the university’s Protect the Pack website for more details on policies and procedures to help ensure health and safety during this time.

Request books:

Please search for books at the libraries’ site and then request it for pick up in METRC — currently no browsing in-house. 

You will be able to borrow laptops, iPads chargers, calculators, cameras, etc. in person.

College of Education and Psychology students, faculty, and staff can continue borrowing equipment – picking up and returning in person. Wear a mask and follow marked guidelines for entering one at a time to check out equipment. Items that can’t be readily cleaned may have limited availability. Please use our technology request form to inquire about the availability or items not listed above.

Printing, Cricut-use and laminating currently unavailable. CED faculty/staff can use the book scanner. 3-D printing can be requested.

Printing and production equipment is currently unavailable. 3-D printing service or other Makerspace requests can be made at cedmediacenter@ncsu.edu. Self-printing with the 3D printers will not be available for Fall 2020.

Online Services Include

  • Instructional technology consultations with individual instructors or program groups
  • Co-teaching/instruction in courses integrating literacy or technology resources
  • Advisory in selecting books, resources, teaching materials, etc.
  • Events and special programming through social media i.e the Global Read Aloud and book displays

General METRC Information

METRC provides resources and services to facilitate the preparation of professional educators, counselors, and administrators at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to model an exemplary school library media center.

Affiliated with NCSU Libraries, the METRC collection can be searched through the NCSU Libraries online catalog. METRC serves as a Tripsaver/Interlibrary Loan location as well.
