Program Description

This short-term immersion is designed to provide student-teachers with first hand experience working with students in a different cultural context,  thereby helping them develop valuable skills to prepare them to teach in diverse learning environments.

 

Students will participate in Spanish language classes at Casa Mexicana Language School and visit graduate education classes at Universidad Iberoamericana, providing the opportunity to learn about and exchange views about education with their Mexican peers. Students will further develop their intercultural competence through service learning while volunteering in a school in Guanajuato, and living with a local family, for a truly immersive experience.

Housing/Meals

Housing in Guanajuato will be provided in homestays with local families.  Breakfast is included.

Excursions

Students will travel to sites of cultural and economic interest, such as local silver mines and Taxco.
