This two-part session will focus on presenting participants with strategies that engage students in, at times, controversial current event topics through meaningful discourse. Participants will investigate the challenges and tactics when preparing themselves to facilitate these discussions. They will then review debate and discussion protocols that help to maximize engagement and increase student learning. Finally, participants will be asked to practice developing their own structured discussion or debate that fits the needs of their profession.

This session will be presented in two parts. Attendees would have to register for each session separately to receive the Zoom link details. Attendance at both events is not required.
