January 9, 2020 | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Candidates are invited to receive PGU credit for receiving feedback on their teaching about a diversity topic. Candidates will develop and lead a 30-60 minute lesson in the course Teaching about Identities, Diversity, and Equity in K-12 and Higher Education (ECI 509 001). This is a practicum course for undergraduate and graduate students interested in learning about and practicing strategies for how to design and lead activities about diversity in ways that promote productive engagement and reduce resistance. Students in the course give feedback to each other and outside instructors. The class meets Tuesdays 1:30-4:15 in Poe 214.

Process:
1. Candidates develop a lesson they want to practice and contact Dr. Byrd to discuss scheduling (christy_byrd@ncsu.edu).
2. Before their scheduled class session, candidates check-in with a consulting student from ECI 509 to confirm the final details.
