Participate in a “Mursion” session practicing how you will talk to students and introduce a work session for the class. Your class will be made up of computer avatar students. As the teacher, you will practice giving specific
praise while introducing a lesson. In the lesson introduction, students learn that they will be working in small groups with assigned roles, and certain students may initially refuse to work with others, be resistant to
learning in general, or offer inappropriate behavioral expectations in the discussion. Your objective will be to provide contingent and specific praise to maintain engagement and reinforce on-task behaviors. You will also have a chance to debrief and discuss the experience. NOTE: this PGU is limited to only 10 participants!
