{"id":453,"date":"2015-08-27T13:19:24","date_gmt":"2015-08-27T17:19:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ced.ncsu.edu\/elphd-updated\/about\/outreach-and-engagement\/"},"modified":"2021-11-01T13:39:16","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T17:39:16","slug":"outreach-and-engagement","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ced.ncsu.edu\/elphd\/about\/outreach-and-engagement\/","title":{"rendered":"Outreach and Engagement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Faculty are committed to extension and engagement activities in K-12 schools, higher education settings, community organizations, and the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Our most important contributions are our role with the <a href=\"http:\/\/belk-center.ced.ncsu.edu\">Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research<\/a>. In partnership with the North Carolina Community College system, we work to build the skills of front-line academic administrators in the state\u2019s 58 community colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, ELPHD&nbsp;is home to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nilie.ncsu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Initiative for Leadership &amp; Institutional Effectiveness (NILIE)<\/a>. By conducting research on leadership and institutional effectiveness using specialized surveys, NILIE assists Institutions in developing strategies that improve student success through collaborative leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ELPHD&nbsp;also offers a master\u2019s in School Administration through&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nela2.wordpress.ncsu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Northeast Leadership Academy (NELA)<\/a>, an innovative school leader preparation program designed to develop principals as instructional leaders who drive improvements in student achievement in northeast North Carolina&#8217;s rural, high-need schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ced.ncsu.edu\/elphd-updated\/about\/outreach-and-engagement\/ccerc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Community Counseling, Education, and Research Center<\/a> (CCERC) at the&nbsp;Wade Edwards Foundation and Learning Laboratory (WELL)&nbsp;provides short-term and affordable counseling services to individuals, couples, and families that focus on healthy personal, emotional, social, and career development through our Counselor Education Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also contribute to and support<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oe.ncsu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NC State\u2019s outreach, extension, and economic development programs<\/a>&nbsp;for the people, businesses, and communities of North Carolina.<\/li><li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Study-abroad opportunities through the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ced.ncsu.edu\/international-initiatives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International and Distance Education Alliance<\/a>.<\/li><li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Peer-reviewed research in national publications, including the&nbsp;<a class=\"ext\" href=\"https:\/\/crw.sagepub.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Community College Review<\/a>, a national journal of research about community colleges whose editorial board is led by ELPHD&nbsp;faculty.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Faculty are committed to extension and engagement activities in K-12 schools, higher education settings, community organizations, and the workplace.
