Curriculum Vitae

Diane D. Chapman is a Teaching Associate Professor of Workforce and Human Resource Education and the Director of the Office of Faculty Development at NC State University.  She is a recognized program evaluator and works regularly with area agencies and programs as an external evaluator.  She also teaches courses in the areas of instructional design and program evaluation.   Her most recent research involves the evaluation in workforce development, evaluation in online environments, and instructional technology in teaching and learning. She managed the development and operations of the Online M.Ed. and certificate programs at NC State University from 2002 through 2012.  Prior to coming to NC State, Dr. Chapman served as Coordinator of Online Instruction at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Public Health and has over 20 years of training and development experience in the private sector.  Dr. Chapman received her BBA from Western Michigan University, her MBA from Western Carolina University, and her EdD from NC State University.

Research Description: 

Dr. Chapman's research falls into two primary realms; evaluation and instructional technology. Recent work has focused in the measurement of student learning using cutting-edge instructional technologies, evaluating professional development activities for adults in face-to-face and online settings, response rates in end-of-course evaluations, action learning in higher education, and professional development for contingent faculty.
