Facilitate equitable access to technology resources for all students
It is my goal that when my students finish the geometry course, they will be proficient in using the Geometer's Sketchpad software. There is not enough time during the class period for them to achieve proficiency, so as a year-long project, they are to fit in at least 50 hours of computer time using Geometer's Sketchpad. I intend to administer a Proficiency test at the end of the school year. The students will also have to turn in a portfolio of their printouts from their sessions. This way the time they are spending is somewhat guided. The purpose of the log is not only to help me verify that they are spending the necessary time, but I also feel that by having to log in, the students will be more aware of how much time they have spent in relation to their progress on the portfolio.
