Facilitate technology-enhanced experiences that address context standards and student technology standards
My High School Pre-Algebra students tend to have a lot of difficulty when it comes to basic operations on integers. Memorizing rules does not seem to work. Therefore I am trying to give them a method for visualizing the process of adding integers. I have tried this with manipulatives, but they do not pay attention as well as with this multimedia presentation. After the presentation of the material, the students will complete problems from their textbook. I supply red and blue colored pencils to the students if they wish to draw the dots on their work. I find as long as they use this method, they have a high percentage of correct answers.
