technology education

The program to prepare technology teachers for grades 7-12 builds off a candidate's strong background in technological fields such as manufacturing, communications, construction, and/or transportation. Coursework and field experiences focus on developing strong pedagogical content knowledge as it relates specifically to teaching technology and design in middle and high school. The MAT program in Technology Education is strong in the use of technology for teaching and learning and candidates develop expertise with hand-held and computer-based technologies used for learning and teaching science. Candidates are expected to engage as scholars to synthesize research literature on learning and teaching technology and use sophisticated inquiry methods in their planning, instruction, and assessment of students.

A Plan of Study is now available.  Please note that this is a general plan of study and is subject to change.
