The Friday Institute (FI) will launch their 2008-09 Brown Bag Lunch Series starting Tuesday, August 26. This annual series addresses topics related to 21st century learning and advancements within the College of Education.

The FI Technology platform is a core component of strategic programs that advance the FI mission. Like everything else, our technology availability, functionality, and support is growing rapidly at the Friday Institute, and this affects all of us at the FI, one way or another. Please join us for this 2008 orientation to the FI’s Technology recent innovations, current capabilities and support, and a preview of the upcoming improvements. Areas of interest for this seminar include:
-The Technology Group’s Personnel and Evolving Roles;
-Policy, Procedures, and Processes: Who, what, and where regarding technology logistics;
-Technology Infrastructure: overview of current and future systems at the FI;
-Technology Innovations: Innovations at the FI that make the FI a technology leader;
-Educational Innovations: An overview of projects applying technological innovations into the educational environment; and
-Technology Projects: Overview of recent and future technology projects.
The next seminar, on the topic of “Building Student-Centered Assessments of Fractions and Ratios based on Learning Trajectories," will be hosted by Dr. Jere Confrey on September 9, 2008.
