Dr. Chapman & Dr. Jaegar Receive Outstanding Extension Service Award
March 17, 2009-- Congratulations to Dr. Diane Chapman, Assistant Professor and Dr. Audrey J. Jaegar, Associate Professor in the Department of Adult and Higher Education. They both received the Outstanding Extension Service Award for the College of Education and were inducted into the Academy of Outstanding Faculty Engaged in Extension (AOFEE). This award is given in recognition of dedication and demonstrated achievements in serving the people of North Carolina. Efforts like those of Dr. Chapman and Dr. Jaegar are central to the accomplishment of North Carolina State University’s land-grant mission.
Nominated by their colleagues, submitted statements read:
“Dr. Chapman has been a masterful creator and designer of learner-oriented support systems, tools, instructional and assessment strategies, as well as in creating models of professional development anchored in technology environments.”
“Dr. Jaegar is one of a small group of scholars who studies engagement and is recognized as a rising national expert in the area. Her scholarly products in this are numerous.”
The College of Education is proud of Dr. Chapman’s and Dr. Jaegar’s outstanding contributions in engaged extension efforts at NC State. They will be honored on Monday, April 20, 2009 during the “Celebrating the Engaged University” awards ceremony to be held at the McKimmon Center for Extension and Continuing Education.
