ced alum named new dean
at barton college
October 21, 2009-- College of Education alumnae, Dr. Jackie Ennis, was named the new Dean of the School of Education at Barton College in Wilson, NC.
Ennis has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Atlantic Christian College, a master’s in middle school education from Campbell University, and a doctorate from North Carolina State University in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Instructional Technology.
Barton College’s School of Education offers licensure in 14 undergraduate areas.
“The School of Education is planning to begin Barton College’s very first graduate program in June 2010,” says Ennis. “The program will lead to a Master in Education (M.Ed.) degree in Elementary Education. We hope to offer additional master’s level programs once this program is well established.”
Located in Wilson, North Carolina, Barton College is an academic community of approximately 1,130 students and 200 faculty and staff.
