Graphic Communications
Education Program

Graphic Communications, a program in the Department of Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in the College of Education, is one of the oldest areas of study at NCSU. Courses in Engineering Drawing and Descriptive Geometry were taught on this campus when the doors opened in 1889. Graphic Communication now teaches approximately 18 separate courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. It also offers a minor, a major and a Master of Science in Graphic Communications Education. The major (a concentration under Technology Education) provides students with a background in technical graphics, manufacturing and materials and management. The Master's Degree is designed to prepare qualified graphics teachers for careers in teaching at the post-secondary level. A Bachelor's Program is coming soon. Students entering the minor come from a variety of Engineering Programs: Technology Education, Communications, Accounting and Design, to name a few.
