Technology/Audiovisual Resources
Individual and group instruction in the use of laptops, LCD projectors, digital cameras, digital recorders, and other audiovisual equipment, videotaping, and the production of simple instructional materials may be arranged in advance by contacting a member of the staff. We can also come to your classes to provide demonstrations and orientations. Contact us for more information.
Equipment
Equipment is ONLY for use by education & psychology faculty, staff, and students or those who have classes in Poe Hall. It is NOT for general campus checkout.
Equipment may only be checked out during the week and some equipment is not available after 5 pm during the week without a reservation. Reservations are always a good idea.
Equipment cannot be checked out on Sundays.
Equipment is NOT available any time to any organizations or other groups unaffiliated with the College of Education or psychology.
Equipment (except for cameras) is not allowed outside of Poe Hall without special and advanced permission.
A university ID is required for checkout.
Fees will be assessed for equipment that is lost, damaged, or returned late.
Training is available on a pre-arranged basis for any equipment.
TV/VCR/DVDs and laptop projector carts if available may be checked out after 5pm Monday through Thursday for use in Poe Hall only. No other equipment will be checked out after 5pm without a prior reservation. No equipment is checked out on Sundays.
Equipment circulates on a first come/first serve basis. Reservations are highly encouraged for equipment in high demand. Equipment that is not picked up within 30 minutes of its reserved time will be made available to others. Equipment which is reserved for an individual for a semester but is not picked up on a regular basis will be taken off semester reserve and made available to others. Checkout time varies based on the type of equipment. Instructors may reserve equipment on a weekly basis for a semester but no specific equipment is checked out on a longterm basis without special permission.

Ellison die cut machine
digital video transfer/copy
Other AV equipment includes a laser pointer, computer remote controls, a lectern, overhead & slide projectors, slide and filmstrip viewers, videodisc player, a typewriter, and an opaque projector.
Loan Periods
Resources for the College of Education media center are primarily for the use of faculty, students, and staff of the College of Education and Department of Psychology. Only persons with appropriate NCSU ID cards will be allowed to check out materials. Lending policies permit the use of print and nonprint materials by the larger campus community for instructional and research purposes.
• Books: 30 days (students), 90 days (faculty and graduate students)
• Audiovisual materials (except videos):1 week
• Videos: 3 days (must be checked out in person with NCSU ID card).
• Reserves: for use only in media center
• Equipment: hourly; daily; longer by special permission

Overdue Materials

Equipment that is lost or damaged will be assessed at the current price of the equipment or the cost of repair.
