Updating your computer with Windows Update
2. You will arrive at the Welcome
to Windows Update page. 3. Select "Product Updates". You will recieve
the following window your machine is scanned for Microsoft Software
versions and Security 4. When the scan is finished you will be given a
list of advised updates in a section titled, "Critical Updates and
Service Packs"
5. All Critical Updates and Service packs are installed
exclusively and independently. Therefore only one update can be
installed at a time. ALL SERVICE PACKS
SHOULD BE RUN BEFORE THE INITIALLY SELECTED CRITICAL UPDATES PACKAGE.
De-select this option and select a service pack if one is suggested.
Continue installing updates one by one until all are complete, with
the CRITICAL UPDATES PACKAGE LAST to be
installed. 6. Avoid updating other "Pick of the Month" or individual
"Security Updates" INCLUDING INTERNET EXPLORER unless instructed to
do so by your Network Administrators. 7. Your machine is now up to date and should be running optimally. |
