To simplify rule creation
over multiple computer platforms these instructions are given via GroupWise
Webaccess since the interface is the same for everyone. Please create
your rule using WebAccess. |
| 1) In GroupWise WebAccess, click on 'Options' (next to 'Exit') |
| 2) In the Options window, click 'Rules', if you have a previous rule,
named 'Gee Whiz' then delete the file. |
| 3) Select 'Move to Folder' from the pull-down menu and then click 'Create' |
| 4) Give the rule a name like 'CED SPAM Rule' in the 'Rule Name' field at the top of the window | |||
5) In the 'Define Optional Condition...' section, select 'Subject' from first pull-down menu |
6) Select 'Contains' from the second pull-down menu |
| 7) Enter 'S-P-A-M' in the field |
8) In the 'Define Action - Select destination folder' section, check the radio button next to 'Junk Mail'. If you have no Junk Mail folder, or cannot see a Junk Mail folder then cancel your rule creation and select 'Add Folder' from the menu and create one. After the Junk Mail folder has been created, begin again from step 1. |
| 9) Click 'Save' at the bottom of the window | |||
| 10) Back in the Rules window, your rule should have a check mark next to it, indicating it's now active | |||
EdIT will continue to update these rules as long as submissions continue to be made to ced_spam@ncsu.edu. This process will always be a little behind the curve of new spam emails but will hopefully end the continued receipt of know bad emails. |
