college of education moodle
Moodle has become a popular Course Management System, not only because it is Open Source software, but also because of it’s roots in learning pedagogy. The College of Education has been using Moodle to not only support innovation in class delivery, but also in research, professional development, and classroom projects. Faculty members and administrators are using Moodle to facilitate collaboration and sharing of documents. Instructors are teaching professional development courses to teachers across the state. Students are using a separate Moodle Installation to create portfolios for student teaching and special projects.

College of Education Ning
Ning is a social networking system (SNS) for the College of Education that allows you to create social networks based on the topic of your choice. Social Networking is a powerful tool both in and out of the classroom. Facebook has over 100 million users, but how do we use a SNS for educational purposes? The College of Education at NC State University has created their own SNS using the Ning platform. We hope to leverage the popularity of these SNS, such as MySpace and Facebook, in a more professional environment. Our goal is to encourage discourse and sharing both in and out of the classroom. Ning allows you to create your own social websites and social networks.

College of Education Upload Server
The site is designed to allow you to transfer files with colleagues without worrying about the attachment size limitations of email. Instead of attaching large files via email, simply upload them and email your desired recipients the link you are given in return.

College of Education Video Server
Watch, upload and share! The CED video server is a video sharing community that allows faculty, staff and students to watch, upload and share college related videos.
Video is a powerful tool, not only in research but in student engagement. The College of Education recognized the need for not only a place to store and host video, but also a venue to share it with others. The advantage of using an internal “You Tube” is the ability to not only control content, but also provide a place where videos can be private. Students are recording themselves teaching lessons and doing science demonstrations. Our video classes are sharing their projects with others both in and out of their discipline.
