Email & Calendars

All NCSU students, faculty and staff are provided a Gmail account for email and calendaring as part of the Google Apps @ NCSU suite of communication and collaboration applications hosted by Google. NCSU Gmail accounts have 25Gb of mail storage and can send attachments up to 25MB in size. To send larger files, use NCSU's Velocity service.

Please remember: You can address emails to a person's alias address (firstname_lastname@ncsu.edu), but alias addresses cannot be used to create Google calendar entries, share Google calendars, or share Google Docs. You must use a person's NCSU Gmail ID (unityid@ncsu.edu) for those functions.

Web Access

The NCSU Gmail login page is http://gmail.ncsu.edu. If you attempt to login to your NCSU Gmail account through Google's standard Gmail login page, you must enter your username as unityid@ncsu.edu.

Mobile Access

Instructions are available for accessing your NCSU Gmail through various mobile devices:

  iOS devices (iPhone, iPad)

  Android phones and tablets

  BlackBerry

Instructions for configuring other devices are available at the OIT Desktop & Mobile Phone Access Configuration for Gmail page.
