Curriculum, Instruction, and Counselor Education

The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Counselor Education advances education by preparing educators, counselors and other human service professionals who are innovative, ethical and culturally competent. We accomplish this through rigorous and reflective learning, and through the production and dissemination of high-impact research in local, global, and virtual contexts.

The vision of the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Counselor Education emerges from two unifying themes. The first is that all efforts of the Department are focused on preparing educators, counselors and other human service professionals who are successful leaders in their field. The second unifying theme is equipping educators, counselors and other human service professionals with the knowledge to be innovative.

We articulate our vision through our commitment to:
