Vasu, E. S. (1998-1999). Revised the master's program in Instructional
Technology Specialist -- Computing based on new International Society
for Technology in Education (ISTE) and NCATE Standards for Advanced Programs
in Educational Computing and Technology Leadership. Part of the revision
involved the development of four new courses:
ECI 518, Instructional Technology Program & Staff Development;
ECI 642, Practicum in Instructional Technology: Networking and Operating
Systems;
ECI 515, Internet Applications & Web Page Design in K-12 Instruction;
ECI 517, Advanced Multimedia Design & Applications in K-12 Instruction.
Two courses in the program were revised and renumbered:

middle school language arts and social studies. http://www2.ncsu.edu/midtech/.
The site contains: interviews with experienced technology teachers, and
new teachers; resources for technology, language arts and social studies;
middle school students' work; NCSU faculty projects; technology training
materials for teachers; technology competencies on-line; and resources
for our undergraduate teacher education program in language arts and social
studies.
Education 2000 Program: (1995-2000). I co-direct the Education 2000 program offered jointly between the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and the Computer Training Program (CTP), located within Continuing and Professional Education in the McKimmon Center. Education 2000, begun in 1995, provides K12 teachers with technology and curriculum integration knowledge and skills. The program consists of six workshops offered by the CTP, and two graduate courses from the Instructional Technology/Computers master's program within C&I. Completion of the program results in a Computer Endorsement in Computer Education for certified teachers. The program helps to recruit teachers into our master's program in instructional technology.
