- PI for the Geosciences in Middle School, 2007-2010, funded by the Burroughs Wellcome Fund for $171,222. The project focuses on year-round science enrichment activities and career development groups to enhance middle school students’ interests in sciences and career development. Co-PIs: Dr. Kevin Stewart, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and Dr.Yu-Fai Leung, NC State University. Status: Project began in summer 2007. - PI, for an online course development, funded by Distance Education at NC State University; funded for $8,000 from 2006-2007. An online counseling course: ECD 530 Theories and Techniques of Counseling was developed, the first one offered by the Counselor Education Program in fall, 2007. This is a part of the Counseling Certificate (Online) Program in development. Status: Completed, offered this fall, 2007; course website: http://courses.ncsu.edu/ecd530/common/index.html
- PI for an Internationalization Seed Grant $6,000 in 2003 for a study on the effectiveness of the Chinese Career Key and its website with Chinese students in Hong Kong. Status: Completed, and an article was published.
- PI for an NC State extension grant of $10,000 in 2000 to develop an on-line counseling course. Status: the online course was developed in the summer of 2000.
- PI for an NC State extension grant of $3,500 in 2000 to study the effectiveness of the Career Key (Chinese version) in Hong Kong. Status: Completed, and an article was published.
- PI for a research grant of $5,000 in 1998 from the National Association of College Admission Counseling for a study using cognitive and non-cognitive variables and acculturation variables to predict academic success of Native American and Caucasian college freshmen; Status: Completed, and an article was published.
