Student Teacher & Intern Orientation
Poe Hall- Room 216
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW IN ORDER TO STUDENT TEACH?
The student teaching and intern experience provides an important
transition between university-based preparation and full
responsibility in the classroom. The study of the principles of
teaching requires field experiences for candidates to integrate
knowledge with practice; develop their abilities to organize and
communicate mastery of content in their field of study; analyze
their own abilities and desires to function effectively as teachers;
and recognize the need for continued study and growth.
All prospective Fall 2009 Student Teachers/Interns are
required to attend one of the sessions.
The sessions will cover a variety of important topics including:
• Applications for Professional Semester
• Criminal Record Checks
• Physical/Health Form Requirements
• College of Education Expectations
• School System Expectations |
