Undergraduate course offerings:

EAC 301 – Introduction to Leadership Fundamentals – Offered in the Fall and the Spring -    Class offered Tuesdays and Thursdays

This course provides an introduction to both experiential and cognitive understandings of the basic components of leadership.  These understandings can be applied to your current and future leadership experiences on campus, your community involvements, and or future roles beyond NC State.  A model of critical reflection with applications to leadership roles and responsibilities will be integrated into this course.  Students will have the opportunity to explore various styles of leadership and begin to identify their own leadership style.  This course is offered in collaboration between the Department of Adult and Community College Education (ACCE) and the Center for Student Leadership, Ethics, and Public Service.  The course will be co-taught by Student Affairs professional, and an AHE doctoral students. 

Distance Education – Online courses:

EAC 301 – Introduction to Leadership Fundamentals – Offered in the Fall, Spring and Summer

Students will explore various approaches in leadership and be able to identify their own leadership style. This introductory course in leadership will cover the basics of leadership theories, vision, mission statements, power, ethics and values, and project management. The course will be offered in a distance education environment which requires the students to have the first true leadership skills of time management, motivation, and basic computer and internet capabilities. Although the course does not meet general education requirements, it does set the stage for your future career as a leader in both formal and informal contexts.

EAC 495B - Learning Leaders - Offered in the Fall, Spring and Summer

Leaders must be continuously learning and fostering the same learning opportunities with their colleagues. This course will allow students to analyze and reflect on their learning experiences as adults and understand the variety of ways adults learn in different leadership situations. By understanding principles of adult learning and leadership, leaders will be able to assist and guide their colleagues by providing learning opportunities for effective leadership. Students will develop their own leadership skills, as well as cultivate effective strategies in influencing interpersonal relations.
