SURVEY ADMINISTRATION
  • The survey process begins with a request from an organization to NILIE describing interest in a particular climate survey. 
  • The NILIE researcher contacts your institutional representative. 
  • Your institutional representative and the NILIE researcher work closely to customize the instrument to fit your needs. 
  • Staff at your institution administer the instrument and return the data to NILIE for analysis with SAS statistical software. 
  • The result is a bound report, produced by NILIE, that is unique to your institutional needs.

NILIE maintains a national database of composite averages of more than 100 colleges. Your institution will be compared to others on the factors measured and to itself over time when your institution repeats a survey.

Climate Survey Options and Fees
Effective August 1, 2007

Option 1: Base service
  • NILIE provides instruments, sample report, and norm base data
  • The Institution administers the instruments, inputs the data, and completes the data analysis/report
    (copies of final data set and report are sent to NILIE)
  • Fees: $2500 base fee
  • $35/100 surveys (paper only)
Option 2: Base service plus scanning/processing raw data
  • NILIE provides instruments (paper or online) and norm base data
  • The Institution administers the instruments
  • NILIE scans/processes the data and provides the institution with the raw data
  • The Institution completes the data analysis/report (copies of final data set and report are sent to NILIE)
  • Fees: $2500 base fee
  • $250 processing/scanning fee
  • $35/100 surveys (paper only)
Option 3: Full-service
  • NILIE provides instruments (paper or online)
  • The Institution administers the instruments
  • NILIE scans/processes the data, analyzes the data, writes the climate report
  • Fees: $2500 base fee
  • $250 processing/scanning fee
  • $1500 report development
  • $35/100 surveys (paper only)
Option 4: Full-service plus comparative analysis with prior administration data
  • NILIE provides instruments (paper or online)
  • The Institution administers the instruments
  • NILIE scans/processes the data, analyzes the data, writes the climate report
  • NILIE also provides comparative analysis with prior administration data
  • Fees: $2500 base fee
  • $250 processing/scanning fee
  • $1750 report development
  • $35/100 surveys (paper only)
Additional Services:
  • On-site consulting is provided by Dr. Leila Gonzalez Sullivan, Executive Director of NILIE and faculty member at NCSU or her designee. On-site consulting provides report interpretation, recommendations based on report results and institutional documents (e.g., strategic planning documents), or other appropriate consultation. A PowerPoint presentation is included.
  • Fees: $2000 plus expenses
  • PowerPoint presentation file only: $250
