Tim Hatcher

Background

I spent 25 years working in international business and industry in performance improvement and quality management before coming to academia. I started my career working with my hands and left industry as a CEO.
Since 1994 I have held faculty positions with Indiana State University, the University of Arkansas, and the University of Louisville. I’m currently Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of Training & Development and Adult Education, at North Carolina State University.

Teaching

I have taught a number of graduate and undergraduate courses in HRD, T&D and OD including Assessment, Design & Development, Facilitation, and Evaluation. My favorite courses include Foundations of HRD/T&D, Leadership and Change, and Ethics in the Workplace and Education. I have chaired over 10 completed doctoral dissertations and enjoy working with doctoral students in crafting a high quality study.
I am currently teaching EAC 582 and will be teaching Leadership for Change and the Evaluation course (online) in the spring of 2004.

Research

My research interest and passion is business ethics and enhancing the social impact of organizations through human resource development. I have published over 70 articles, book chapters and books.
