Research
Dr. Akroyd's research has focused on a variety of workplace and behavioral variables and their ability to predict employees satisfaction, organizational commitment and burnout. The focus of his research has concentrated on health professionals (both practitioners and faculty) and full-time and part-time community college faculty groups.
He has also examined supply, distribution and policy issues in the health professions. Some of his most current work regarding community college faculty has evolved from working with data from the National Center for Educational Statistics, specifically the National Study of Post Secondary Faculty (NSOPF).
