Background
Dr. Chapman received her B.B.A. from Western Michigan University, her M.B.A. from Western Carolina University and her Ed.D. at North Carolina State University. In addition to her teaching and advising duties, Dr. Diane Chapman is Director for T&D Online, the online master’s degree in Training and Development and the online Certificate in Training and Development. Her background includes positions involving the human resources, evaluation, instructional design, and training management.
Prior to joining NCSU, Dr. Chapman served as the Coordinator for Online Instruction at the UNC-CH School of Public Health and as Training Manager for a Fortune 500 manufacturing firm. In addition, she brings over 20 years of management experience in business and industry.

Research
Dr. Chapman's research falls into two primary realms; evaluation and instructional technology. Recent work has focused in the measurement of student learning using cutting-edge instructional technologies and evaluating collaborative learning in conference settings.
Service
Dr. Chapman is a member of Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD) and currently serves as the Chair of the Technology Committee for that professional organization. She is also a member of the American Society for Training and Development, Triangle Chapter (ASTD-RTA). Dr. Chapman regularly serves on both college and university commitees and is often an invited speaker for area professional associations and campus events.
