Program Overview

The Graduate Certificate in E-Learning is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to assume roles in integrating e-learning into the curriculum or teaching entirely online. Course work is applicable for those who are currently involved in e-learning activities and those desiring to enter into this realm.

The Certificate in E-learning is a collaborative effort between the Departments of Adult and Higher Education and Curriculum and Instruction and allows each learner to choose a focus on either e-learning for adult education or e-learning for K-12 education. The certificate requires a minimum of 5 courses (15 credit hours). All courses are delivered entirely online.

The Graduate Certificate in E-Learning will prepare you to:

* Apply learning theories for e-learning.
* Evaluate and assess in e-learning settings.
* Apply best practice designs and instructional strategies.
* Apply current current research and best practices in e-learning contexts.
* Analyze and critique issues associated with integrating technology.
* Implement various models of instruction applicable to e-learning and different internet-based instructional strategies.
* Develop basic production skills associated with the design and delivery of Web-based teaching environments.
* Create instructional materials for use by e-learners.
