Program Overview

The Graduate Certificate in E-Learning is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to assume roles in integrating e-learning into the curriculum or teaching entirely online. Course work is applicable for those who are currently involved in e-learning activities and those desiring to enter into this realm.

The courses in this certificate program are delivered entirely online. The learners are provided with two alternatives for completion of this program. The first option is designed for those learner involved in K-12 teaching and learning and the other is for students involved in adult teaching and learning.

Curriculum

The Certificate in E-learning is a collaborative effort between the Departments of Adult and Higher Education and Curriculum and Instruction and allows each learner to choose a focus on either e-learning for adult education or e-learning for K-12 education. The certificate requires a minimum of 15 hours, and includes the following courses:

Core Courses

EAC 539 : Teaching in the Online Environment - 3 hours
EAC 560 : Assessment & Evaluation in Adult and Higher Education - 3 hours
ECI 517 : Advanced Multimedia Design and Applications - 3 hours
ECI 716 : Design & Evaluation of Instructional Materials - 3 hours

Elective Course (Choice of one course)

EAC 559 (Adult Education) : The Adult Learner - 3 hours
ECI 515 (K-12 Education): Internet Applications and Web-page design in Instruction - 3 hours
