Faculty
Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL)
The FCTL was created to enhance student learning by promoting faculty
growth and development. Each fall the FCTL requests proposals for
travel to teaching and learning conferences or for projects that
will be conducted during the following academic year. Approximately
$20,000 is available each fiscal year. The deadline for submitting
proposals is in early February. A subcommittee of the FCTL Advisory
Committee reviews proposals and award notifications are made in
mid-March. Funds are then dispersed after July 1st of that same
year.

in order to support tenure-track faculty members in either Individual
Investigator Competitive Funds Program projects or in Multi-Disciplinary
Planning Grants. Awards are intended to serve as seed money leading to
follow-up support obtained from outside granting agencies. ______________________________________________________________________________________

Learning
in a Technology-Rich Environment (LITRE)
The purpose of the LITRE Grants program is to encourage faculty
inquiry and investigation into improving student learning using
technology. Therefore the primary criterion for reviewing proposals
will be anticipated student learning outcomes, particularly resulting
from innovative projects which may have wide applicability. The
deadline for proposals this year will be September 12, 2005, with
awards being announced in December 2005. Proposals may be submitted
by any faculty or staff member at NCSU.
