The web video conference server at North Carolina State University is a wonderful tool for educators to share knowledge, ideas and tools with a wide variety of audiences. Based around MeetingPoint, a commercially available web conference industry leader, North Carolina State University's web conferencing server is available to educators. Web video conferencing servers allow groups of guests, educators and learners to interact in real-time, sharing any combination of audio, video, text and data. With video conferencing, your audience can view you at the same time that you are viewing them and you can share a whiteboard and chat interactively.

This tutorial will introduce educators to the MeetingPoint web conferencing utilities. It covers how to set up and run a conference; it is geared towards educational administrators who wish to put the power of web conferencing to use. You will sign into MeetingPoint's administrator web pages to set up a conference with your specific requirements, including the time and date of your conference.

At the end of this tutorial, you should be able to:

• Exhibit a basic understanding of web conferencing
• Get permissions
• Setup a web-based audio/video conference
