Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School

The Noyce METS program has a partnership with Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School. During the first year of this partnership, SRMHS established the Mathematics Accelerated Learning Lab (MALL) as an after school tutoring opportunity for students. Scholars during this first year served as tutors in the MALL. During the second year of the partnership, SRMHS implemented the SMART Lunch program as a way to offer their students the opportunity to receive extra assistance within the school hours. As part of the requirements of the Noyce METS program, the scholars serve as tutors during SMART Lunch or serve as teacher aides. Tutoring during SMART Lunch or serving as a teacher aide provides the scholars with field experience beyond their degree requirements.
