Here are some "inside scoops" that we have uncovered through our research on St. Augustine's campus and history.

 

Social aspects

Sororities and fraternities are a large part of the social life on St. Augustine's campus.  Students in these organizations play an important role to the surrounding communities by participating in community projects. 

The following sororities have a chapter at St. Augustine's College:  Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Zeta Phi Beta.  The following fraternites have a chapter at St. Augustine's College:  Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, and Alpha Phi Alpha.

There are numerous academic and special interest clubs for students to become involved during their tenure at St. Augustine's College.

 

Students give back to the local community through the college's Community Service Program.

Safety and Security
St. Augustine's College is located in the Historic Oakwood District of Raleigh, NC.  There is only one main entrance onto the campus via  Oakwood Avenue.

For those parents that are concerned about safety and security, there is a campus police department on site.

Academic Aspects

There is an Episcopal Chapel located on campus.  All freshmen are required to attend a chapel service one hour a week.  Some of the topics of these services include money management, sex education, real estate, and much more.

There is a strong sense of community throughout campus life and class size. This is evidenced by the student/teacher ratio of 13 to 1. Student and faculty on campus are like one big family.

New academic departments are coming soon.  They include Forensic Science and Nursing.  St. Agnes Hospital is undergoing renovations.

Other

St. Augustine's College continues to diversify its student body.  It is offering academic and athletic scholarships and recruiting students internationally.
