This page is designed to correlate with
your field trip to Historic Oak View County Park. On this page are North
Carolina 8th grade standards-based activities with assessments in each of the
four main content areas: language arts, math, social studies, and science.
This site concentrates on 8th grade because it is largely based on North Carolina
history in the standard course of study, and other subject areas may be addressed
within this context. Activities are designed primarily for the classroom
during and after a field trip to Historic Oak View. All the activities
are based on Bloom's Taxonomy of Cognitive Levels. Bloom's Taxonomy is a
system of defining different levels of thinking. For more information on
