![]() Table setting when Joel Lane
entertained his guests.
The table is set as it would have been set during August of 1776, when Joel Lane and other patriots would have been discussing the Revolutionary War. Joel Lane was a fine host for parties. He served his guests fine food and spirits from his taverns. You might consider Joel Lane to be the P. Diddy of colonial times. |

The table would be pulled to the middle of the room, and the wings of the table would be folded up to provide more sitting room during meals or meetings. The round table in the room could also be split in two, with each half put on the ends of this table, making enough room to seat 12 people! |
